Acupuncture
"Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease". - Hippocrates
Acupuncture is an ancient form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been practiced in China for thousands of years. In TCM your overall health is viewed as an outward manifestation of the internal balance within your body. Diagnosis, based on TCM theory, seeks to identify the underlying cause of body dysfunction, and then acupuncture is used to address both the symptoms and underlying cause of disharmony, with the aim of providing a long term outcome.
HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?
Acupuncture is a natural therapy with treatment plans tailored to each individual. During the acupuncture treatment fine needles are gently inserted at specific points along the affected meridians. Points are chosen according to your Chinese medicine diagnosis and the needles are left in place for approximately 20 - 30 minutes. After the needles are inserted you are left to close your eyes, meditate, or simply relax while your treatment takes effect. Only sterile, single use needles are used.
